Daughter transcends what the music industry refers to as a “sophomore slump.” Powerful and cathartic, “Not to Disappear,” its second and latest album by the indie-dream-pop band, is both dreamy and intense. Daughter takes opposites and entwines them until they are inseparable.

Day Of Silence Gets People Talking

On Tuesday, May 3, groups of students throughout the Upper School were silenced in solidarity for their classmates, friends, and others in the LGBTQ+ community who have been victims of bullying.

Seniors Showcase Artwork

Over forty-five seniors featured their work at the Senior Art Show on Monday, April 25. The theatre lobby was lined with creations, including everything from ceramic mugs and photography to paintings and duct-tape dresses. Even the photography studio was set up as a viewing space to watch student created videos.

Solo and Ensemble Ratings

On Saturday, February 15, musicians from all corners of Academy performed in the Ohio Music Education Association’s Solo and Ensemble Competition. Each student or group was assigned a rating after performing. The ratings go from 1-5, with 1 being Superior. The rankings for the Band, Choir, and Orchestra solos and ensembles are listed below.

ArtsMania Amazes Upper School

ArtsMania, the biannual celebration of the fine arts, was held on Wednesday, February 17. The promise of a day filled with only arts was exciting to both ninth-graders, who had never experienced it before, and to the rest of the upper school who has had a great time in years past.
