Choir’s Annual Cabaret Wows Crowd

On the evening of Friday, April 8, not a single dry eye was left at the end of Cabaret, the annual choir concert.

Held in the Dining Hall and complete with over 35 acts, Cabaret gave singers the chance to perform solos and small group pieces, giving many more people the option to be featured. Camerata, Viking Choir, and the men’s and women’s choirs also sang group pieces throughout the night.

Emotions were already running high from some remarkable performances as the night drew to a close and the class of 2016 sang “The Call,” arranged by Jenna Kent’16, as they bid farewell to their high school choir career.

One more surprise, however followed. Together, the seniors wrote and performed a song called “Time To Move On,” a final thank-you to Mrs. Brooks for leading them through their musical careers. After this, if anyone in attendance remained dry-eyed, it was not for long.

The successful night was much longer than in previous years. The program was filled with talent, and it was evident that much effort had been put into making the night perfect.
