Football’s 2015 Team of 38 Players

Dedication describes this year’s football team.  August 1st may have been the technical start date of pre-season, but the Vikings were working hard long before this, spending their summer days in the weight room and on the field.

Field Hockey Begins Its Season with Three Wins

The Vikings trumped Worthington Kilbourne 4-0 on August 25. With goals from Alyssa Edwards’16, Grace Geiger’16, Natalie L’Hommedieu’17, and Avie Smith’19, the team showed great depth as an offensive unit. While there were some stray breakaways from Kilbourne, the defense held its composure and handled these gracefully.

  Seven new members have been added to Academy’s varsity field hockey, six of whom are 9th graders, which assures Coach Horton she will have a strong team over the next four years.

Baseball Comes to Disappointing End

After defeating West Jefferson in a 5-1 win on Tuesday, May 19th, the team advanced to District Finals, looking to pass the point they lost at last year. Boys Lacrosse defeats Big Walnut 16-1

On May 20th, the boys had their biggest lead of the season. Otis Klingbeil’16 and Roman Bellisari’17 had hat tricks. Max Bechtel’15 and Sean Reagan’16 both scored two goals. The Vikes  will play in an away game against Bishop Waters Friday May 22nd, at 7pm. Written By Nida Pervez’16

Tennis Sectionals

On Saturday, May 17, our Vikings played in the  second part of the sectionals, which determines the seeding for districts Friday, May 22. The boys dominated the tournament. Track: MSL Meet

On Tuesday, May 12th and Friday, May 15th, the Vikes competed in the MSL League Meet at London High School against Grandview Heights, Bexley, Whitehall-Yearling, Madison Plains, Worthington Christian, West Jefferson, and London. The boys placed 5th with102 points, and the girls tied for 4th with 84 points.
