The wrestling team’s  MSL tournament on Saturday, February 6, was one of the biggest of the season. Senior captain, Calvin Wuorinen’16, wrestled 4-1 and earned 2nd place in his weight division. Josh Pearson’18 earned 2nd place in his division, also wrestling 4-1.

On Saturday, December 5, the wrestling team participated in two different tournaments. Captain Calvin Wuorinen’16 and Anthony Sugar’17 wrestled at St. Francis DeSales, while the rest of the team wrestled at Groveport Madison.

Going on 28 years of fall food drives and clothes collections, this year’s effort netted 54 carts of food and served 33 central Ohio families. With each of Academy’s three divisions involved in this event, warm clothes, including a coat for every family member, along with new toys made their way into the lawn bags…

The girls had their district semifinal match at Fairbanks on Tuesday, October 27. Fortunately, our Vikes put on a dominant performance. Controlling possession for most of the game, they took a total of 11 shots with five on target.

The Vikings placed second in the MSL preseason tournament, losing to Bexley. Academy won its own tournament at Columbus Country Club by 2 strokes ahead of Wellington.  Captain Vincent Dong’16 shot a tournament-low 69.

On Saturday, May 17, our Vikings played in the  second part of the sectionals, which determines the seeding for districts Friday, May 22. The boys dominated the tournament.
