A 64-52 Win Moves Boys Basketball Forward in Playoffs

In its first tournament game, the Vikings defeated Bishop Ready 64-52. Halftime was close at 26-25. But Academy turned it around and scored 26 points in the 3rd quarter. Freshman, Solomon Pierre-Louis’s dunk ended the game.  The boys face Grandview (at Grandview) at 5PM on Saturday March 7th.

Wrestling Sectionals: 2/28/15

With regular season over, CA’s wrestlers headed into the sectionals on Saturday, February 28. These matches were heavily contested, because of the concentration of wrestlers.

Oscar Snubs “Sniper”

The Academy’s  lack of recognition for “American Sniper” was surprising, considering the film was a smash hit by any estimation. As of Oscar Sunday, it had grossed north of $320 million, accounting for more than half of the combined earnings of all eight Best Picture nominees. Reception to the film was markedly positive among military
