Missing two major contributors, Alivia Brown’15 and Alyssa Edwards’16, the girls lacrosse defeated Rocky River’s Ravens 7-2 with ease. Goal scorers were Julia Chester’16 (3), Makéla Hughes’16 (2), Grace Gieger’16, and Katie Boeckman’16.

The boys and girls track team had a strong start to their season today with both teams finishing second place an away meet against Bloom Carroll, Whitehall, and Bexley!

Academy girls faced a challenging opponent in today’s match as they contended with D1 New Albany. After leading the whole game, the Vikes fell to the Eagles in the final minutes. The final score was 16-15.

On Saturday, March 7th, the boys were down 31-23 at halftime against Grandview, the number one seed. But in the third quarter, the Vikings put everything they had into the game and started to score like crazy.

In its first tournament game, the Vikings defeated Bishop Ready 64-52. Halftime was close at 26-25. But Academy turned it around and scored 26 points in the 3rd quarter. Freshman, Solomon Pierre-Louis’s dunk ended the game.  The boys face Grandview (at Grandview) at 5PM on Saturday March 7th.

With regular season over, CA’s wrestlers headed into the sectionals on Saturday, February 28. These matches were heavily contested, because of the concentration of wrestlers.

On February 28th, the girls team placed 6th overall, and the boys tied for 20th, their highest placement since 2012!

Today, February 25th, 9th grader, Esther Lawrence competed in the Division II State Diving championship and finished 4th! She was one of Central Ohio’s top finishers.

During their game against Madison Plains on February 23, the Vikings celebrated seniors Max Bechtel, Ted Loper, Scott Mackenzie, Wes Terveer, and Brett Trimbur. The boys crushed Madison Plains 86-57.
