After the one of the most successful seasons with a talented and driven baseball team, the Columbus Academy Vikings fell to Fairbanks 8-1 on Monday, May 16,in the district semifinals, ending their season on a disappointing note.

A familiar feeling swept across campus this week. After a first round bye, the girls lacrosse team prepared to defend its state title in the district tournament, and anticipation grew for Friday, May 20, when the girls would take the field against Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy.

The Academy baseball team was seeded as the number one team in the Columbus district, heading into round two of sectionals after a bye in the first round. The Columbus Academy track teams finished their season this past week and are now preparing for districts. The Boys placed 5th over all at MSL’s in London, Ohio.

Academy’s girls track team finished up MSL-Ohio Track & Field Championship finals last Friday, May 13th, taking third place overall.

As the school year eases to an end, the excitement around spring sports builds up.  The girls lacrosse team finished its regular season against tough opponents in preparation for a pressing postseason ahead.

On Wednesday, May 11, the Vikes defeated the Wellington Jaguars, 5-0.

An early morning long drive was worth it when the girls track team placed fourth among eleven teams on May 7th at  Mount Gilead.

The Vikes fought hard up in Mount Gilead this past Saturday, May 7th, placing seventh out of ten teams and only a mere one and a half points shy of the sixth place spot.
