After a gut-wrenching loss to Centerburg in the second round of the playoffs last season, the CA boys basketball team is looking to erase the bad taste in its mouth with a district championship this year.

The Academy football team traveled to Milan, Ohio, to play the Edison Chargers in the first round of the Division 5, Region 18 playoffs. Unfortunately, the Vikings fell to the Chargers in a hard fought 30-14 loss.

With its first playoff berth in a decade on the line, the Columbus Academy football team took care of business against London. The Vikes blew out the Red Raiders 37-0 and punched their ticket to the Division 5 playoffs.

On Friday, October 21, Academy hosted its arch rival, Bexley, who got the better of the 7-2 Vikings with a 28-14 loss in one of the biggest games in our school’s  history.

After two straight road games, Academy’s football team finally played in front of its home crowd, facing a 3-1 Whitehall team. After losing to the Rams 35-21 a year ago, the Vikes were hungry for a win this time around. They got their revenge, outlasting the Rams in a thrilling 21-20 victory.

It was a cold, rainy night, and the Academy football team had traveled to Newark Catholic for a showdown between two undefeated teams. Unfortunately, it was the Green Wave that came out with the victory, grinding out a 34-26 win over the resilient Vikings.
