The bowling team’s season came to an end on Thursday, February 18, with a strong but  insufficient performance at Districts. The boys team and individual girls could not land themselves in the top two places of the final rankings: a standing required to move on to the state tournament.

After competing at sectionals this past Friday, February 12, the boys placed sixth out of 28 teams, only six points away from fifth place. Though bowling’s regular season has come to an end, there is still much activity going on with the teams. Senior night will be on Monday, February 8, during one of their practices, and they may even let you bowl with them as they head into post season.

On Wednesday, January, 20, the boys bowling team faced off against its long time rival, Bishop Ready. Senior Sean Reagan stated this match was “the biggest match of the season.”

The boys and girls bowling teams have had matches on Monday, December 7, Wednesday, December 9, and Thursday, December 10.

The boys soccer team played Bishop Rosecrans in the Regional semifinal at Newark High School, on Wednesday, November 4th. On Wednesday, October 26, the Vikings battled the Granville Christian Academy Eagles at home in their District semifinal game. The Vikings entered the game blindly, having never faced the Eagles and earned an overwhelming 10-0 victory.

Not knowing the rules of volleyball, I decided to research its regulations and its general make-up. For those of you who are also unfamiliar with this sport, you may find the following facts helpful, and, of course, the team would love your support, especially at its home games.

The girls volleyball team lost two games last week. Its first rival was Worthington Christian on Tuesday, September 1. Though each set was close, Academy lost in straight sets  (losing the first three).

On May 20th, the boys had their biggest lead of the season. Otis Klingbeil’16 and Roman Bellisari’17 had hat tricks. Max Bechtel’15 and Sean Reagan’16 both scored two goals. The Vikes  will play in an away game against Bishop Waters Friday May 22nd, at 7pm. Written By Nida Pervez’16
