Portia Yiamouyiannis, owner of vegan hotspot Portia’s Café, plans to open Clintonville Natural Foods just south of her cafe in January of 2016.
Yiamouyiannis has dedicated much of her time to create a tasty menu that is conscious of the public’s many dietary restrictions. Her Clintonville cafe seats up to 30 and serves vegan and gluten free foods with many raw dishes.
Before opening the cafe, Yiamouyiannis ran Beechwold natural foods for eight years. In a The Columbus Dining Magazine article, Yiamouyiannis was characterized as someone who used the cafe as an extension of her willingness to help others. With a desire to expand her vegetable empire, Yiamouyiannis is staying true her mantra: “I thought if I went even deeper and gave people good, healthy food made with love—because I really believe in the energy going into the food—they wouldn’t have to go to the doctor or the health foods store as much,” she says.
Yiamouyiannis plans to offer a variety of locally-sourced food, including bulk herbs, spices, teas, and produce in her new market.
