UCA(United Columbus Academy), an organization for diversity and affinity groups, held its end-of-year celebration on April 24, in the Dining Hall’s fireside at 12:50 p.m. with hungry and excited students streaming in, listening to a mix of cultural music.

For lunch, food choices came from all affinity groups, such as empanadas, spring rolls, fried chicken, rice, and mac and cheese, with donuts, ice cream sundaes, and cookies .

First, UCA presidents Lizzie B. and Sophie L. presented awards to affinity groups, such as “Best Affinity Alliance Advisor of the Year,” which went to Dr. Lester, “Best Program of the Year,” went to the Iftar dinner, and “Best Assembly of the year” went to the BOS fashion show.

After the awards, each affinity group’s current leaders passed the gavels to the new leaders. Each affinity group took a photo with the current leaders, new leaders, and affinity advisors.

UCA chose Leila C., to co-lead with Lizzie next year.

UCA leader Lizzie says, “I had so much fun organizing this event and leading UCA this year. It was amazing to see all the different affinity groups come together for a last hurrah to celebrate this year’s accomplishments!”

Thank you to Dr. Losambe, Ms. Hines, Ms. Porter, Lizzie, and Sophie for a successful UCA year.
