If you are you a freshman or sophomore looking to get more involved in the Service Board, why not fill out a Shaper application.
Shapers are Service Board’s steering committee that provide consistent leadership, initiative, and commitment beyond the minimum requirement for Service Board membership. Once elected, Shapers will remain in that position until their graduation.
Shapers know the Service Board’s decision-making process, with every D-day’s committee meetings and are expected to lead or manage two-three Service Board events annually. All D-day meetings are mandatory, and Shapers should attend one extended leadership workshop with CA students in mid-June.
Along with Shapers’ leadership, they are required to complete 45 off-campus Service hours by the end of their junior year and an additional 10 hours at their volunteer site.
Those who want to be considered for selection should show a personal commitment to Service beyond the requirements and have good standing within the Academy community, with a completed all five Service Board events.
The Service Board president and vice president, the current Shapers, and the Service Board advisor will review the applications, which are anonymous to eliminate any bias.
Shaper application forms are due on Wednesday, February 26.
