Girls Tracks Places 3rd at Championships

The girls track team traveled to Whitehall on Thursday, May 11 for the Mid-State League Meet, competing against Bexley, Buckeye Valley, Columbus School for Girls, Grandview Heights, Wellington, Whitehall, and Worthington Christian. With a final score of 109, the girls placed 3rd overall, just six points short of Buckeye Valley.

Ella L. claimed 2nd in the 300m hurdles at 49.64, followed by Zoya A. placing 3rd in both the 300m at 49.81 and in the 100m at 16.66. Olivia L. sped to 2nd place in the 800m at 2:24.99, with Sam F. in a close 3rd at 2:25.66. After a long 3200m, Melanie Q. earned 4th at 12.28.27.  Then Zoya A., Sam F., Caitlynn H., and Olivia L. won 2nd in the 4x400m at 4:12.06. Alli K. dominated the field events after winning 1st in the high jump at 5’4, and placing 2nd in the long jump at 15’11.75.

The girls will compete at districts on Tuesday, May 16 for the field events and Wednesday, May 17 for the running preliminaries, and Saturday, May 20 for the finals.
