Every year the ninth-Grade Student Council members create a spirit week of dress down themes for the upper school. This year’s spirit week was January 30 to February 3.
Monday eased students back from the weekend with Pajama Day. Christmas themed pants to robes and slippers roamed the hallways.
Tuesday was USA day, a classic and fan favorite. Students in red, white, and blue were spotted in every corner of the school.
Wednesday allowed students to participate in the popular TikTok trend of dress like Adam Sandlar and his notorious oversized streetwear. It was a funny scene as fathers’ gym shorts and polos paired with baseball caps and sunglasses were pulled out as wardrobe to attend classes. Students also had the option to dress in any decade if they wished to not participate in Adam Sandlar day.
Last year’s “Anything But A Backpack Day” was so loved that it was a highlight this year for Thursday’s spirit day. Transitions to class were slowed down because props such as bicycles, golf bags, wagons, and strollers were the students’ means for storage for the day.
Friday ended the week with the iconic Columbus Academy spirit for the pep rally that concluded the day. Inhale maroon, exhale gray, and Go Vikes!
