On the weekend of March 5, 2022, Spandana A. and Lindsey B. competed in the Ohio Speech and Debate state tournament representing Columbus Academy. 

Lindsey and Spandana, both three-year debaters, participated in Public Forum (PF), which is a style of two-on-two debate. They prepared for issues ranging from domestic policy to international politics. Earlier this year, they debated on a topic related to NATO sovereignty. 

In their total of seven state rounds, Lindsey and Spandana were tasked with creating an argument related to the benefits and drawbacks of organic agriculture. The team finished 16th in the state, the best record in their high school career. 

Lindsey and Spandana are one of only 3 debate teams in the CA history in PF to place so highly, and they are the first team of girls to complete such a successful season. Congratulations to the debate team on such a commendable finish.
