Wrestling in the 220 lb. weight class, junipr Gyvnn Mendenhall lost his first match and third match at states yet won in his second, which did not qualify him for a placement.
It’s worthwhile to note that Gyvnn only competed in 10 matches this year, due to the shortened season–while many of his competitors had gotten to experience 30.
Nevertheless, qualifying for states two years in a row is an impressive achievement in and of itself.
