On Wednesday, February 3, the Service Board hosted its annual Faculty & Staff Appreciation Day in gratitude to the dedication of our school’s staff, educators, administrators, security, and kitchen and maintenance teams.
This year’s celebration was organized and executed by Ms. Bening, Ms. Nelson, Shaan Arora’20, sophomores Liesel Goldfarb and Cyrus Hannallah, and Lauren Motta’21, who have been planning the annual event since before Winter Break.
Goldfarb says, “Instead of the usual catered lunch in the Athletic Entrance, we did an hors d’oeuvres dessert bar.” The group wanted to serve a larger group at once, welcoming both present and retired faculty and staff.
Students in the Upper School thanked their teachers by writing letters, which were delivered that day during the appreciation lunch. All placemats at the lunch were illustrated and decorated by the Lower School, including drawings from apples to rainbows.
For Goldfarb, her favorite part was the finished product: “I really enjoyed seeing the teachers enjoy their meal and open their letters.”
Arora reflects, “It’s easily the most rewarding and fulfilling experience giving back to those who help make our futures brighter and stronger every day.”
