On Wednesday, October 23, the girls volleyball team played its district semi-final match against Cardington-Lincoln at Mt. Vernon Nazarene.
The Vikes were riding high, as the team had just made history by winning Academy’s first-ever volleyball postseason match against Africentric Early College in straight sets. Unfortunately, the Pirates ended our girls run and season, defeating Academy 0-3.
With a record of 10-7-1 and CA’s first tournament victory, our girls had a successful and history-making season, made better only by the team’s love for the game. As Aislinn Ahern’22 says, “I think the best part of the game is when the ball comes at you fast and you get a perfect pass. Nothing is better.”
