After months of hard work and for the first time in our school’s history, both the boys and girls cross country teams headed to National Trail Raceway for the State Meet on Saturday, November 5.
Both teams fought hard and finished strong, the boys in 12th, the girls in 15th.
In the individual races, Nick Robie’18 led the boys, finishing 39th out of 188 runners. Audrey Grammel’17 and Annalise Grammel’20 led the girls, placing 15th and 41st, respectively, out of 181 runners.
Senior runner Grayson Mick said, “This was my last race for CAXC and while it wasn’t our fastest as a team, we gave it our all and left everything out on the course We started this season with lofty goals and we accomplished them as a unit, as a team, and as best friends. I’m excited for what the future holds for Academy’s cross country program.”
This cross country season was the most successful one in Academy history. Although the team is losing eight key members, the returning runners are prepared to continue their legacy next year.
Thanks for an outstanding season Cross Country Vikes!
