Academy’s annual service project supporting local families concluded this past week with two key events: transferring boxes to the dining hall and delivering them to their sites.

On Friday, November 22, the Service Board organized an event to transfer family boxes from classrooms to the dining hall in preparation for loading cars the following day. Volunteers worked in groups to load shopping carts with wrapped bags and toys. Those who worked from 1:30 to 2:00 earned half an event, while those from 3:30 to 4:30 earned one event.

On Saturday, November 23, 18 volunteers met at 7:30 a.m. and were divided into two groups: Group One loaded food into cars at the athletic entrance, while Group Two focused on loading toys at the loading dock. Each volunteer earned two events for this effort.

After loading the cars, one group drove to Royal Manor, and the other went to the Childhood League Center. At each site, volunteers unloaded the packages and loaded items into families’ cars as they arrived. Volunteers earned an additional event for the trip.

Thank you to Ms. Bening, Ms. Allison, Ms. Forchione, shapers, and all parent, staff, faculty and student volunteers for ensuring the success of this year’s Kids 4 Kids.
