On October 31, from 6-8 p.m., Service Boad volunteers sporting their best costumes will visit local homes in Gahanna for the annual “begging for cans” service event.

Mr. Morford, who has hosted this event 15 years, will meet students at his house to begin their eventful night. The shapers have already notified the neighborhoods and have distributed flyers so households can prepare for the drive. These trick-or-treaters have asked for non-perishables, including boxed macaroni and cheese, packaged beans, tuna, soup, and canned foods, all of will also help our blessing boxes.

Ms. Bening says, “ We do Begging for Cans because it’s a fun social event that helps contribute to the food drive and connect us with neighborhoods in our surrounding community. It also allows students to contribute their time to get donations rather than pinching their wallet.”

Each volunteer earns two events for their participation.
