Advisory Challenges Show Creativity Lies in Collaboration

Morris Advisory works together to paint a Romanesque “Dr. Morris” (Ashley Tu)

Upper School students gathered outside Morris Hall on October 5 for an advisory paint-off in preparation for Columbus Academy’s 2021 Homecoming Dance. Since this year’s homecoming theme is Rome, advisories were challenged with crafting their own unique portraits of their advisors in romanesque style using acrylic paints, brushes, and sponges. In under thirty minutes, dozens of portraits of Upper School faculty adorned in wreaths and golden togas emerged onto canvases.

These artworks will be on display in all their glory during the dance taking place on October 17 in the Senior Quad and Lazarus Courtyard for “Romecoming,” so you definitely don’t want to miss out on an unforgettable school dance with even more unforgettable decor.
