(Courtesy/Mr. Ahern)

With a rivalry game Tuesday, September 28, the girls volleyball team put in its best efforts despite persisting player absences as it faced off against Bexley after falling to the Lions in a previous game this season. Exceptional sophomore play included Ellie Smith who had 5 kills and Eleanor Schroeder who had 14 assists. Despite its teamwork, Academy lost 0-3.

At home on Thursday, September 30, the girls suffered a secondagainst Grandview Heights. Even with Sophia Costantine 7 kills, Kelli Raque and Maddie Martin’s 2 kills each, Kerry O’Connor’s 3 defensive blocks and libero Alli Klinefelter 10 digs, they fell 0-3 against the Bobcats,

The team has 2 chances to improve its 5-9 record next week, facing Buckeye Valley (away) on Tuesday, October 5 and Whetstone in the Mack on Wednesday, October 6.
