Success on Senior Night for Boys Soccer

Coming into last week with a 2-5 record, the Columbus Academy Boys’ Soccer team was looking to give it their all against their competitors. They did not disappoint.

On Tuesday, September 14, the boys celebrated Senior Night at home against Buckeye Valley. Supported by a lively student section full of Vikings wearing red-white-and-blue, the team was ready to take the Barons head-on.

Buckeye Valley scored during the first few minutes of the game, but our boys fought hard, eventually conquering their opponents 2-1.

Energized by the win, the team returned to Hondros on Saturday, September 18 to face the Beechcroft Cougars. The Vikes passed through opposing defenders well and capitalized upon their many opportunities to score. Senior co-captains Arden Preza and David Wunsch scored five goals in total, while Omar Drissi brought the game home by scoring two more goals for the Vikings. The boys finished 7-0.

With a 4-5 record, the boys will face Wellington on Wednesday, September 22 and Morgan High on Saturday, September 25.
