On Thursday, February 18, the boys basketball team matched up against Briggs.
Academy led by 18 by the end of the first quarter. Junior Tanner Compton led in scoring with 23 points, netting 7 three-pointers. Brady Hess’21 and Kevin Reeves’22 followed with 13 points and 10 points, respectively. Reeves also made 12 rebounds, and Sonari Hart’21 completed 6 assists. The team won 61-45 in a blowout.
The boys notched another win on Saturday, February 21 against Marion Franklin. Reeves impressed on offense and defense, completing 15 points (including a dunk), 14 rebounds, and 3 blocks. In the well-rounded offensive unit, Compton earned 16 points (4 three-pointers), Hess earned 8, and Hart scored 6.
The team’s first playoff is on Wednesday, February 24 at Northridge. If the Vikes advance, they will have another tournament game on Saturday, February 27.
