Volleyball Defeats Whitehall on Senior Night

On Wednesday, October 2, the Academy girls volleyball team honored seniors Sasha Ahern, Noelle Boltz, Sarah Edwards, Abigail Freytag, Sophia Freytag, Mabry Nichols, Emma Smith, Mackenzie Smith, and Carolyn Zhang for their contributions to the program, following the ceremony up with a victory against Whitehall.

In the first set, Whitehall came out strong, but our girls were composed and fought back with powerful serves and effective communication. The determined seniors particularly shined, fueled by the cheers of their fans in the Hawaiian-themed student section. The Vikes won the first two sets, as the seniors were a fluid, cohesive team on their special day, lunging and diving for every ball despite the power plays coming from the Rams. Academy had no mercy for them and took the third set 25-12.

Our girls record now stands at 10-7, and the team looks to improve it this week with an away match against Buckeye Valley on Monday, October 7, before facing off against Worthington Christian at home on Thursday, October 10.
