The Volleyball Vikes were busy this week. After losing two away games at  Westerville North and at Worthington Christian, our girls were determined  to round off the week with a home win against Grandview Heights on  Thursday, September 19.

The Vikes started out the first set with no mercy, with kills from Sophia Freytag’20 and Lily Plaugher ‘21 securing a strong lead. The team played a resilient defense throughout the first set, and the Vikes led the Bobcats 19-10 before closing out the set 25-19 on a series of  saves during a long volley.

Throughout the next two sets, the girls fought hard against their underdog opponents but lost the second and third sets 22-25. They managed to battle back and win the fourth set 25-11.

In the final set, the Bobcats put up a fight but were no match for the Vikes, who rounded out the match with a 16-14 victory on the 5th and final set.

The Vikes followed up on this victory up with two more wins against Northridge and Madison Christian at a home tournament on Saturday, September 21.

Our girls record now stands at 10-7.

This week, the Volleyball Vikes have an important match-up at Bexley on Tuesday, September 24.
