This year’s #AllDay4CA was a resounding success. As students and faculty celebrated by coming together and decking themselves out in maroon and gray, an unprecedented record of donations was set. This was the school’s 2nd hosting of an #AllDay4CA, and 134 more people donated compared to the inaugural day last year.
#AllDay4CA is a 25-hour online giving “day,” hosted by the school. Faculty, alumni, families, and even seniors can make donations to the school’s Annual Fund. Donors may choose to support the Arts, Athletics, Curricular Innovation, Faculty, Student and Family Financial Aid, or the General Fund.
The Development Team behind #AllDay4CA wanted an event that would bring the whole CA community together to celebrate and support the school. After witnessing various other universities and schools hold giving days, the Development Team discovered GiveCampus, an organization that offers a digital fundraising and volunteer management platform for schools. The team decided to look further into a giving day, and after conducting some research and contacting GiveCampus, decided to host Academy’s own giving day.
A promotional video, created by Academy alumnus, Andy Brush’06, and his team at Best Light Video, generated plenty of buzz for the event. This year’s video replaced last year’s interview format and concentrated more on a transitional style, focusing on the wide range of opportunities available for students in the future. The clip also featured current students engaging in subjects that alumni utilize in their professions, such as art or engineering.
Many seniors decided to give their first donations during the event as well, and numerous other alumni donated to support the school. Although the event is technically not an annual occurrence, many hope that it will continue to return due to popular demand.
“All of us, All in” was the event’s motto, and it was a wonderful accomplishment as the entire Academy community came together to support the school that they love.
