All of us. All in. All Day for CA!

March 30, 2017, marked Columbus Academy’s first ever “Giving Day,” which involved donors gifting various amount of money to the school’s annual fund. Academy faculty, students, and staff were clad in spirit wear from head to toe for this first-time event.

As a promising new vision for Academy grew, a more demanding monetary budget to fuel this vision surfaced. The goal of this giving day was to go beyond the traditional methods of fundraising, aiming for an innovative way to raise money for Academy’s annual fund-the school’s second most important source of revenue beyond tuition.

Along with raising money, hopes of inspiring pride throughout the school and engendering the community to share this pride was inspired through Giving Day. In twenty-four hours, the goal was aimed for everyone to be all in, giving and communicating with others about why we are proud of to be a part of this community.

This project was an enormous success, bringing in approximately $400,000.

Academy received donations from nearly 800 people: doubling what we have received this year thus far.

All constituencies of donors, including alumni, parents, grandparents, parents of alumni, faculty, staff, and especially our senior students were contributors.

The administration is diving deeper into the analytics of the day, hoping that this may become an annual event.

A vibrant spirit and energy rocked throughout the school all day as people showed their pride, donated to the fund, and went “all in.”
