On Tuesday, May 17, the boys put up a hard fight against New Albany but lost 2-3. First singles Jacob Wareti’16—and first doubles Hirsh Hede’16 and Austin Lawrence’17—skillfully won their courts in just two sets. Sadly, Michael Qi’17, Suriya Sundaram’19, and the second doubles pair of Eric Min’17 and Sam Vogel’18 fell short, upsetting the team’s high hopes for a win.

On Thursday, May 19, Wareti and Qi as well as the doubles teams: Hede and Lawrence, and, Min and Vogel played in the District Tournament. Singles player Wareti and the Hede-Lawrence team won their matches, qualifying them for states. On Saturday, May 21, they played in the district finals to determine their seeding for states.

Wareti impressively won the Division II District Singles title, with a 6-3, 6-2 win over his opponent. Hede and Lawrence took second place.

Individual’s States are on Friday, May 27, and Saturday, May 28, at the Lindner Family Tennis Center in Mason.

Team’s States are on Sunday, March 29 at Reynoldsburg High School.
