Michael Retchin’16 and Parker Graham’17 attended their second debate tournament of the month on December 12th in Upper Arlington. On fire from their first place finish last week, the pair was ready to compete among 24 other teams, making it their largest tournament yet.
Retchin and Graham place second, finishing with a record of 4-1. Their single loss came to the overall winner of the tournament. They continued the standardized testing debate this weekend.
The young team has placed at least in the top four at every tournament so far. Because of this success, the team hopes to travel to Charleston, North Carolina, for an elite, national event called the Laird Lewis Invitational. An impressive performance at this tournament could give Columbus Academy the opportunity to win a bid to the Tournament of Champions at the University of Kentucky in April.
