With this spring’s higher than usual temperatures, Rising Park is the place to be. Located in Lancaster and only 40 minutes from school, this park has a pond, picnic tables, and playgrounds. Plus, it’s free.
Another plus is the 250-feet tall Mount Pleasant, which overlooks the park, making it well known for its exceptional view of the city and the forested hills at its outskirts.
No road is available up to the top of Mount Pleasant. Yet, there is much to see when ascending its peak by foot, such as rocky outcroppings and man-made stone benches.
If you are new to Rising Park, the view and a new knowledge of its history will be well worth the trip.
