The brainchild of Columbus native Cory Bree, Righno (pronounced “rhino”) offers a contemporary shopping experience for the modern man. The company started online in 2010 and operates out of Indianapolis, but Bree always intended to open a store in Columbus.
Righno is impressive with its simplistically decorated storefront and large windows offering a view of the eclectic neighborhood in which it is nestled.
Righno wants to tailor to the modern, more casual, urban man, and its atmosphere and offerings reflect that ambition. The tops, pants, and outerwear offer clean lines, but aren’t so trendy as to turn people away. Prices aren’t outrageous, but high enough to make you think two or three times before making a purchase. That was to be expected, though, because Righno employees will assist you throughout the shopping experience. Think of it as a more boutique Urban Outfitters. The pieces are also high quality, so you can be sure that the $99 polka-dot sweater will last you through the impending winter.
Recently, the Short North is fostering more creative growth in the fashion realm than ever before. Righno is poised to become a clothing staple in Columbus, and I welcome the competition because I’m always looking for another place to shop on the weekends.
