On Saturday, October 31, the boys and girls cross country teams competed in the Regional Championships at Pickerington North High School.
The boys team finished 3rd with 103 points, qualifying for States for the first time since 2002!
After finishing 6th at Regionals last year, the team “knew how tough it would be, so we worked harder than ever throughout the year,” said senior captain, Atticus Lee. “We know we belong and we are excited to leave our mark in Academy history books.”
Nick Robie’18, Lee, and Grayson Mick’17 were the top three finishers for the team finishing 18th, 21st, and 27th, respectively.
The girls team got 6th place with 138 points. Audrey Grammel’17 individually qualified for States after finishing 10th with a time of 20:15.0. “I am so proud of the team this season,” said Grammel. “Even though we didn’t run as well as we would have liked, we all pushed hard.”
The state meet is Saturday, November 7, at National Trail Raceway!
