The boys track team competed at Bloom Carroll against Heath, Franklin Heights, Berne Union, Worthington Christian, Desales, Utica, Fairfeild, Horizon Science, Johnstown and Bishop Ready and finished in 3rd place behind Franklin Heights and Heath.
Captain Tim Leathery’15 finished 4th in the 400 meter run. Logan Baker’16 finished first in the 800, more than 3 seconds ahead of second place. For the 1600, Nicholas Robie’18 finished fourth.
The 4×200 team of Jack Mills’16, Michael Kusi’17, Baker, and Jerome Buckner’18 finished third. The 4×400 team of Leathery, KJ Boyce’17, and Baker finished fourth. And the 4×800 of Atticus Lee’16, Leathery, Buckner, and Baker finished second, just over a second behind Worthington Christian.
JaVahn Iverson’15 once again won shot put with a final distance of 51-02.00. According to head coach Bob Kirk, this was “a big breakthrough, not only surpassing 50’ for the first time, but even being over 51.’” Kusi placed third in long jump with a final distance of 18-05.00.
The team finished with 76 points.
Their next meet is on Tuesday, April 28th at Bishop Hartley at 4:30pm.
