After defeating Gahanna Christian on January 12th 66-44, the Academy boys basketball team is now 5-6. The score was close throughout the game until the Vikings stepped it up in the 4th quarter, ending the game with a twenty-point difference.
In the first two quarters, the score remained close and both teams battled to take the lead. During the third quarter, the Vikings took the lead and held onto it until the end of the game. They came out strong defensively during the fourth quarter, only allowing Gahanna Christian to score 2 points in the last twelve minutes of the game. Ryan Alexander’16 led the team with points scored, scoring 22 points for the Vikings.
Later that week on January 16th, the boys played London, who they also defeated. The Vikings held the lead at the end of each quarter and then beat London 58-47. Solomon Pierre-Louis’18 was the leading scorer, putting up 15 points for the team. Scott McKenzie’15 also contributed to the Viking’s points, scoring 14 points.
The team’s next game is Tuesday January 20th against Madison Plains.
