Last Thursday, Facebook added 56 new custom gender terms, in addition to its traditional “male” and “female” options. Although all the terms are now available for use, Facebook has not released an official list on its website. To select one of these new terms, users must type in the term they wish to use and hope its exists on the website, rather than have the option to select a term from a drop-down menu. To help with the confusion, here is a list of all the new terms with a brief description of what each means.
