Boys soccer lost at Worthington Christian and ended its brief unbeaten streak on Saturday, September 19. While not ideal, they were on track to outpace their prior season’s dismal 2-15, currently sitting at 2-3-2. Shot-stopper Avery L. was the team’s bright spot, recording ten saves.
While the scoresheet says 2-0, Desmond W. said, “The team “played great but needs to take chances” on offense. Looking at the bigger picture, he said the team is in good spirits, considering their improved record from last season. When asked about the team’s morale, he said, “It’s only getting higher.”
Looking ahead to their toughest challenge yet against the Lions on Wednesday, Wolford views this matchup as an opportunity to turn the tide in terms of “the reputation of CA boys soccer.”
Luke L. said the Vikes had been preparing for this matchup after their last encounter with the Lions, which resulted in a 4-0 rout and had “begun to look at Bexley in a different light.”
