Girls basketball defended its home court against Bishop Ready on Tuesday, February 3, entering the matchup with a 9-game home winning streak and leaving with ten. Katie N. said, “We settled in early and never looked back,” rolling to a commanding 54–26 victory over the Silver Knights. Kendall O. led the charge, shooting 17 points while adding 5 rebounds and 4 steals. Gia C. followed with 14 points, 5 assists, and 5 steals, continuing the Vikes balanced attack. Kyndal S. also made her presence felt, contributing 10 points and 3 steals. Academy ended with 10 assists, overwhelming Bishop Ready’s offense, which managed just 2.

Fueled by that momentum, the Vikings returned to action on Friday, February 6, with their 18-game winning streak on the line. The team dominated Whitehall-Yearling from the opening tip, cruising to a 67–23 win and showcasing their depth and defensive intensity for all four quarters. Kendall once again set the tone, gaining 15 points and 10 steals, marking her 8th straight game with at least 15 points. Allison F. added an efficient 14 points, shooting 70% from the field. The Vikes also controlled the hoop, pulling down 14 offensive rebounds and continuing their streak of strong rebounding performances.

With these victories, Academy’s record of 19–1 now claims 13 victories by 22 points or more.

The team looks ahead to its final week of in-season action, taking on Buckeye Valley on Monday, February 9, followed by a rematch against the Lions on Thursday, February 11. We are looking forward to finishing the season on a high note,” says Katie.
