After a long, grueling season in college football, a winner has been crowned after one of the greatest turnarounds in all of sports. The 2026 College Football National Champion is the Indiana Hoosiers after battling the Miami Hurricanes in a 27-21 contest for the trophy. Yes, you heard that right. After being thought of as the laughing stock of college football and the losingest program in the country, the Hoosiers have managed a complete 180 and now stand at the hilltop of the college football world. Following the hire of Coach Curt Cignetti and the transfer of Heisman trophy winner, Fernando Mendoza, Indiana had about as perfect a season as you could have hoped for as a fan. The team boasted a perfect 16-0 record to close out the season, the first in the new era of college football. 

Now it is onto the next season of college football, which we will have to wait 216 long days to enjoy again. The early favorites for the National Championship include The Ohio State Buckeyes, Indiana Hoosiers, Notre Dame Fighting Irish, and Miami Hurricanes. My bet is the Fighting Irish will hoist the trophy next year after raving lots of high-grade transfers and recruits for next season.

I guess now all we can do is wait and get excited for next fall.
