The boys hosted Bishop Hartley on Thursday, January 15, for their last home meet of the season, taking home a clear and decisive victory with three relay victories and numerous first-place finishes. Academy honored its sole male senior, Mason H., who has swum throughout his high school years.
On Saturday, January 17, the boys traveled to C.T. Branin Natatorium to compete at the annual mixed D1/D2 Northeast Classic. The 200 Medley relay squad of Ethan L., William D., Justin L., and Wystan C. achieved a season-best 4th place finish, also swimming the fastest time among D2 teams. The 400 Free relay of Wystan, Ethan, Luke L., and William placed 6th, again with the fastest time among D2 squads. Individually, Wystan and Luke led the way with a 13th-place finish in the 500 Free (4:57.37) and 100 Back (56.32), respectively. Ethan placed 14th in the 100 Free (49.26), followed by William at 16th (49.64). Rounding out the finalists were Ethan, finishing 19th in the 200 Free (1:48.96), and William, taking 24th in the 50 (22.74).
The team looks to compete in the Central Buckeye League championship on Saturday, January 24.
