On Tuesday, January 14, the boys basketball team travelled to Bexley for its first game of the week. The Vikings came out strong in the first quarter, outscoring the Lions by three points. Bexley bounced back in the second quarter and tied up the game going into halftime. In the third quarter, both teams were neck and neck, exchanging points and defensive stops. In the final quarter, the Vikings were able to pull away a lead and take home a 41-32 win.
On Saturday, January 17, the team faced Kenton Ridge at Old Dominican University. The Vikings came out strong and dominated throughout the entire game. Jason S. fueled Academy’s offense, dishing out 13 assists and putting up multiple tough buckets. As a result, the Vikes captured a 71-53 win.
The Vikings are now on a five-game win streak. Charlie R. says, “The season is going well, and we are finally coming together as a team. We had a bit of a rough start, but now we are racking up wins.”
Looking ahead, the boys will welcome Worthington Christian on Tuesday, January 20, and take a trip to Buckeye Valley on Saturday, January 24.
