Fleetwood Wins in India

The DP World Tour, much like the PGA Tour, hosted the DP World India Championship from Thursday, October 16 to Sunday, October 19 at the Delhi Golf Club in India, an event that attracted some of golf’s biggest stars because of it being in India and no timing conflicts with any PGA Tour events. The field featured some of golf’s biggest stars including Rory Mcllroy, Viktor Hovland, Shane Lowry, and Tommy Fleetwood.

The course had a unique setup, with tight fairways and woods areas closely surrounding them. Most players hit very few drivers, with Mcllroy hitting zero drivers. The course was also right in the middle of the urban area, allowing you to hear the commotion of traffic from the course itself, both aspects being unusual from PGA tour setups.

Keita Nakajima led, heading into the final round at 17 under. Tommy Fleetwood was sitting at 15 under, but his 7 under 65 on Sunday gave him the two shot victory over Nakajima. Fleetwood said he was looking forward to getting the chance to celebrate his win on the 18th green with his son, Frankie. And the moment did not disappoint as we saw Frankie come running out and give his dad a hug.

It was a special victory, a special moment and a special course.
