The Vikings captured a dominant 8-1 win over Lancaster while honoring the team’s six seniors. on September30. The festivities began with a Senior Night ceremony with each player walking across the field with their families and, in some cases, their kindergarten buddies.
The Vikes then took to the field, with Katie N. scoring the first goal. Lancaster responded with a goal of its own, though the excitement didn’t last long. Throughout the rest of the game, Academy went on a 7-0 run with goals from Maren S., Alex P., Alicia L., Sydney J., Katie N., and two from Bebe S.
“It felt great to get a big win like this while also having the opportunity to honor our seniors,” says captain, Caroline M. “The team did an incredible job of coming out and playing Academy field hockey.”
Looking ahead, the Vikes face New Albany away on Wednesday, October 8. This is the final regular season game before the playoffs start.
