At X-C’s Senior Night on Tuesday, September 31, the boys and girls squads dominated the meets, with Dane C. lead the way in the two-mile, clocking in at 10 minutes and 51 seconds and propelling the Vikings to finish first. Claire C. led with14 minutes, one second. With two meets in one week, Chris H. explained how team handles fatigue. He said, “Hydration is really important. We obviously don’t want to cramp when we run, so drinking enough water is important during our busy schedule.” Along with hydration, lighter runs on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday proved beneficial for the Vikings quick turnaround.

On Saturday, October 4, the Vikings competed at the CBL championship. Chris H. led in the 5k, 17 minutes, 40 seconds, secure second place. Claire C. 21 minutes, 48 seconds, taking 14th. This led the Vikings, as they managed to secure 6th place as a team. Chris H. acknowledged the good week, saying, “We had a great race Saturday with many PRs for both the boys and girls, and look to build on that at districts”.

Up next, Academy will rest up to prepare for districts on Saturday, October 18.
