On Monday, May 12, the boys lacrosse team ended its regular season hosting Grove City for Senior Night. The Vikings dominated to start the game, outscoring the Greyhounds 4-0 in the first quarter. Grove City bounced back in the second quarter, tallying three goals while Academy went scoreless. Post halftime, the Vikes slipped in two goals, and the Greyhounds responded with three. The teams were tied 6-6 heading into the final quarter. Academy let up in the fourth quarter, allowing its opponents to rack up four goals while they scored zero. The team ended its regular season on a 6-10 loss.
On Thursday, May 15, the boys traveled to Archbishop Alter for its first postseason matchup. The Vikings had a strong start, scoring two goals while holding the Knights to one. In the second quarter, Archbishop Alter came back, tying the game 4-4 going into halftime. Academy’s success on offense declined in the second half as the Knights outscored them 3-1 in the third quarter and 2-1 in the fourth. This sloppy performance earned the Vikes a 6-9 loss.
The team ended with an overall record of 5-12 (3-5 in conference).
