The Men’s NCAA National Championship game is set as the final four round of March Madness wrapped up this past weekend, with the first matchup between the University Florida and the Auburn Tigers in a game that was back and forth throughout as the Tigers held a commanding lead going into halftime 46-38. Following the intermission, the Gators regrouped and dominated the second half, outscoring Auburn by 14, thanks to superstar Walter Clayton Jr. who ended with 34 points. This resulted in a 79-73 victory sending the Gators to the championship game.
The second matchup saw the Blue Devils and the Cougars battling it out, with Duke seeming to control every aspect of the game, but Houston countered their blows with big plays on both sides of the ball. At halftime the score read 34-28 with Duke leading. Similar to the Gators, the Cougars regrouped at half and outscored Cooper Flag and the Blue Devils by a score of 42-33 resulting in a 70-67 victory.
The national championship game between the Florida and Houston will be played on Monday, April 7, in San Antonio at the Alamodome.
