The boys and girls bowling teams played and lost three games last week. On Monday, January 27, the team faced Wellington. Senior night was Tuesday, January 28, against Worthington Christian, and on Thursday, January 30, the Vikings played against Dublin Coffman.
Against Wellington, Craig E. led the boys team with 323. Mark D. added 292 points, and Nathan M. tallied 256 respectively. Xander HV-R. knocked down 225 pins, while Ted L. scored 118. Cayden M. added 98. The Vikes added 193 points in the baker game, bringing them to a 1505, falling short of Wellington’s 1870. The girls team lost 1186 to 1393 pins. Morgan L. led with 255. Emma M. and Sophie F. scored 223 and 189 respectively. Lynn Y. added 180, and Kaito M. added 162. The team tallied 177 in the baker game.
On Senior Night, the Vikings faced aWorthington Christian, one of the top teams in the league. For the boys, Phinn B.M. had an almost perfect score of 383. Craig performed strongly, scoring 303. Mark tallied 276 pins, and Xander scored 195 respectively. Ted added 192, and 270 pins were added in the baker game. Despite the strong match for the Vikes, they lost to Warriors 1619 to 1994.
Kaito had a great game against the Warriors, leading with 226 pins. Emma scored 211, and Morgan bowled 189. Sophie and Lynn added 181 and 172 respectively. The team added 216 in the baker game, which was 37 points more than their opponents’ score in the baker game, but overall, the Vikes fell 1345 to 1195. The team hosted a post game ceremony afterward to honor its six seniors: Phinn, Mark, Craig, Xander, Morgan, and Ted.
In their next match of the week, The Vikes played Dublin Coffman, with the boys fallinf2051 to 1623. Some highlights of the match were Craig’s score of 361 and Mark’s 312.
The Vikings next match is Tuesday, February 4, against Hilliard Bradley at AMF Stardust Lanes.
