Here’s a look at what’s been happening in sports this week:

The divisional round in the NFL has just wrapped up, so we looked at who punched their ticket into the Conference Championship games. The 1 seeded Kansas City Chiefs hosted the Houston Texans at Arrowhead Stadium in frigid temperatures this weekend as the Mahomes and Kelce duo once again proved too much for the opposing defense resulting in a 23-14 victory for the Chiefs. The Buffalo Bills hosted the Baltimore Ravens at Highmark Stadium and were greeted with snowy conditions that held some challenges for the Ravens as they struggled in the turnover category–resulting in a narrow victory for the Bills 27-25. The Washington Commanders made their way to Detroit Michigan to face the favorites in the NFC, the Detroit Lions, whose quarterback, Jared Goff, struggled through the air-throwing three interceptions as Commanders rookie quarterback, Jayden Daniels, flourished with 300 passing yards and 2 touchdowns. Washington pulled off the upset in dominant fashion with a final score of 45-31. Finally, the Los Angeles Rams faced the Philadelphia Eagles at Lincoln Financial Field in Philly but were turned away as the Eagles found themselves victorious, 28-22. The Washington Commanders will face off against the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFC championship game on Sunday, January 26. at 3 p.m. The Buffalo Bills will once again square off against the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC championship game later that day at 6:30 p.m.

The NBA has been all about two teams recently: The Cavs and Thunder. These teams, both on pace for historic seasons, have now faced off twice in the last two weeks, with each team winning one game. The Boston Celtics, currently third in the power rankings, have struggled, going 8-8 in their last 16 games. There has been lots of drama surrounding Jimmy Butler and the Heat, with Butler coming off a seven-game suspension for his antics relating to his trade request. He is now back with the team, and will continue to play until traded.
