Outer Banks, a Netflix Original series, released the first part of the highly anticipated fourth season on October 10, 2024. This release includes five hour-long episodes and continues the storyline from the first three seasons. It follows a group of teenagers, known as the “Pogues,” who live on the working-class side of the Outer Banks. Led by John B., the Pogues set out to find legendary treasures that link to his missing father, which leads them through a series of thrilling and dangerous adventures. Along the way, they face conflict with the wealthy “Kooks” and complicated relationships and friendships.
In Season 4, Part 1, the Pogues struggle financially and find themselves drawn into a new treasure hunt, seaking the Blue Crown, a relic tied to the infamous Blackbeard’s treasure. During this journey, they realize they are competing with a group of violent treasure hunters who want the prize for themselves. During the pursuit for the Blue Crown, Pogues Sarah and Pope end up trapped in a water-filled crypt, which is how Part 1 concludes. This cliffhanger left fans around the world highly anticipating Part 2, which came out on Thursday, November 7.
Picking up from where the last part concluded, the Pogues’ treasure hunt is intensified, and their threats escalate. Many characters struggle with personal and family issues, and the group must navigate through betrayals and unexpected friendships. As tensions rise, the Pogues’ loyalty and resilience are tested. The fourth season ends with the unexpected death of main character, J.J., leaving fans devastated yet hopeful for the final season.
I did not expect how the season ended and am looking forward to seeing how the plot will continue in the recently confirmed fifth season.
